Hand wash and dry immediately, even before your first use.

Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after you wash it and before each use.  How much oil?  Enough to make it shine, but not be sticky, in order to keep it seasoned and protected from moisture.

If any rust develops, you can simply use a coarse brush or scouring pad to remove the rust, then dry immediately and season again with vegetable oil or shortening.  Letting water sit on your Stahl Grill for prolonged periods of time is likely to cause rust spots, so soaking is not recommended.

When in use, remember that the handles will get hot so please use mitts or heat resistant leather gloves.  And set it in a safe place when removed from the fire to cool.

Once your grill has cooled, clean and dry immediately, and be sure to store in a dry place.

Patina is a natural weathering process which occurs when metal is exposed to air, water, and weather events. Through the patina process, your Stahl firepit will form a unique look and protect the metal. Be advised, the natural side effect of the patina process can sometimes stain wood or fair-colored surfaces. Be mindful of this as you choose the spot for your firepit to patina. Your Stahl firepit will naturally patina over time, but it’s possible to accelerate or delay the process.

ACCELERATE THE PATINA PROCESS

To immediately patina your Stahl firepit:

Disassemble your firepit. If your Stahl firepit has been used, apply a degreaser to remove all dirt, grime, and oil.Spray the metal with a white vinegar. This removes any patina and will return your firepit to its original raw steel color.Evenly spray the firepit pieces on both sides with a mix of vinegar, salt, and hydrogen peroxide. The metal will foam, then turn to a rich golden brown in a matter of hours.DELAY THE PATINA PROCESS

To protect the raw steel color and texture of your firepit:

Disassemble your firepit.If your Stahl firepit has been used, apply a degreaser to remove all dirt, grime, and oil. Spray the metal with a white vinegar to remove any patina and return your firepit to its original raw steel color.Buff the metal with linseed oil or an alkyd resin.PROPER STORAGE

Disassemble your firepit and store flat in a dry, protected area.

Please inspect your purchase immediately upon delivery. If there is a problem with your order, contact Stahl via e-mail at info@stahlfirepit.com immediately. We want all of our customers to be 100% satisfied with their purchase of a Stahl Firepit. We address any customer issues promptly. If you receive a damaged, defective or incorrect item, we will work with you to make things right. To make a return, email info@stahlfirepit.com to obtain a return authorization number from Customer Service.

If you wish to return an item, your refund will be reduced by a restocking charge equal to 10% of the purchase price, and you will be responsible for outbound and return shipping and delivery charges. Returns must be received in original condition within 30 days. Credit card orders will receive refunds in the form of a credit back to the original account. Check and cash payments will be returned via a refund check or Stahl Credit.

Please be aware that the Firepits are susceptible to damage during transit. We take great care to pack shipments so that they will arrive safely, so be sure to retain the original packing materials, original receipt and all merchandise tags for any item that you wish to return to us. You may have to provide supplementary packing materials if the outer carton has been worn during the original trip out to you.

Standard Shipping service charges are not refundable. We do not accept any returns or exchanges on custom orders.  All reduced price or sale items are final and no returns will be accepted.

In-stock items normally ship within three to five days after an order has been placed. Back ordered items will ship 2-4 weeks once order has been placed. If you order by credit card, your card will be charged as each item is shipped. We will accept cancellation of your order for items that have not shipped or that are on back order. Once an item has shipped, cancellation is not possible. Custom and special order items cannot be cancelled.
